Hello People! (First Post)
Hello people! As you can tell, this is my first blog post, and as you might expect I have no idea what to talk about. I just started this site, and I honestly don't know where it's going. I only have a few pages up, but I'm hoping I can expand it greatly over the next few weeks. If you were here from the beginning, you might've noticed the change from the orange style to the black and white one. The main reason for this was, I felt like the orange one was too complicated for me right now, due to the many colors, since I'm new to HTML, and although the current one feels a little hard to see, that might just be because of the headache I have right now.
I think now I should introduce myself, though. I am mostly known as Schmortle online (although ofc I'm not famous or anything), as well as many other things, but I think this website is mainly for the Schmortle side of me. I have so many hobbies its really hard to keep track, but my main ones are Egyptology, conlanging, literature (reading, writing, poetry, etc.), and music (listening, making). I think right now I will mainly talk about conlanging.
What is conlanging? You may ask. People who are fans of fanatsy most likely already know about it, but conlanging is basically the construction of languages (con-lang-ing) - simply making languages. It may seem strange and overwhelming for some people, but trust me, it's really fun, and once you get the basics down, you can make almost anything! I'm actually fairly new to conlanging (seriously - I did randomly make languages, but I never got into the heavy linguistics side of it until July or August last year), so I'm still learning. You might have noticed the strange Interdimensional Portal page. That is actually a future hub for all my worldbuilding, fantasy, sci-fi, conlanging stuff. The "for new visitors" page mentions interesting things about "The Pursuit"... you'll find out more about that later...
Anyway, I think this description has made you think I am a great nerd that wears glasses and stares at a screen all day. Well, that isn't entirely wrong. I am a nerd, I do wear glasses, and I do mostly stare at a screen all day. However, at school my average score is like, 20-30 / 100, so uh, maybe I'm not that big of a nerd.
Anyway, I have to go to my piano lesson in a few, so I have to sign off for now. Although the site is really rough and empty right now, I hope you enjoy whatever comes next!
